Standard Messages
The Standard Messages page allows authorized users to enter and maintain standard messages that can be placed on miscellaneous billing invoices, requisition forms, purchase order forms, payments, permits and permit application checklists. These codes allow you to load standard messages which you can later customize onto the form instead of typing them in each time they are needed.
Note: While editing a standard message, click Reset at any time to return to the previous state the page was in before you save your changes.
To create or edit a message, follow the steps below:
- Click on a module name below for information on how to navigate to the Messages page for the module you are accessing:
- To view or edit an existing code, in the Standard Message Code list, navigate through the standard message codes. A drop-down list also allows you to select a different standard message code. Click a Move button to navigate through the list.
- In the Standard Message Code field, type or edit a code that identifies the standard message. The code may contain 16 characters and is required.
- In Standard Message, type or edit a textual description of the standard message. The message may contain 256 characters and is required.
- After you enter the necessary information in the fields, click Save to save the message or Save/New to create a new message.
Delete a Standard Message
To delete a standard message from the list, select it from the Standard Message Code drop-down list and click Delete.
The Delete button is hidden or disabled if you do not have the appropriate security permissions. If you are authorized, when you click Delete you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
Print the Standard Messages Listing
To print a list of all standard messages, click Print. Click OK to submit the Standard Messages Listing to myReports. This Print button is hidden if you do not have the appropriate security permissions.
